Paradox is a five-record hand-crafted box set in a limited edition of 10. Each box set contains four hand-cast playable concrete stereo 10”, 33rpm singles and one hand- lathed vinyl 10” stereo EP of all four compositions- Paradox 1-4.
Paradox, a study in Musique Concréte, takes four solo instrument recordings and processes each instrument into an acousmatic composition.
It features solo performances of piano, trombone, slide guitar and percussion that have each been restructured within the limitations of tape manipulation through the use of computer software.
Paradox examines the experimentation processes of Musique Concréte musically and literally through the casting of records with a fine high-tensile cement to create a playable record that reflects the spatialized sounds imbedded on it.
